Stash Home Care Guide
Our outdoor collections pair powder-coated aluminum frames with all-weather, solution-dyed fabrics that resist fading, mold and mildew. They are built for the elements, but regular upkeep is what keeps them looking new season after season.
Routine Care
- Wash frames periodically with a soft cloth, mild soap and water, then rinse well and towel dry. In coastal areas, rinse more often to clear salt deposits that can attack the finish.
- Brush cushions with a dry, soft-bristled brush regularly so dirt never becomes embedded in the weave.
- Wipe standing water off frames and tabletops. Pooled moisture leads to water spots; a half-and-half mix of white vinegar and water helps remove any that form.
Spills and Stains
- Clean everyday fabric stains with warm water and a gentle cleaner, working it in with a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly until no soap remains.
- For mildew on all-weather acrylic fabric, a diluted bleach solution followed by a soapy wash and a complete rinse is safe and effective.
- After any wet cleaning, stand cushions on edge with zippers unzipped and facing down so water drains fully, then let them air dry.
What to Avoid
- Never use solvent-based, abrasive or stainless-steel cleaners on painted aluminum. They break down the finish over time.
- Avoid dragging furniture, which can chip the coating and open the door to oxidation.
- Do not leave cushions out in heavy rain or trap wet cushions under covers, which invites mold.
Long-Term Maintenance
- Cover furniture when not in use, making sure everything is clean and dry first, and remove cushions before covering for extended periods.
- Store cushions indoors over winter. Touch up small chips in the frame finish promptly, and use felt pads and coasters on tabletops.
